MLT’s MBA Professional Development (PD) program prepares high-achieving, people of color to become senior leaders in business and social sector organizations. Our Fellows’ success will trigger a multiplier effect of influence and impact to benefit their organizations and communities. The comprehensive, two-year program provides: 

  • One-on-one coaching based on deep industry experience
  • Early exposure to top post-MBA employers
  • A powerful network of peers, coaches, and recruiters

Fellows identify and pursue summer opportunities and full-time roles that match their skills and aspirations. You will have the opportunity to interview for internships three months before business school, potentially starting your MBA program with an internship offer.

The MLT MBA PD Program Experience

The MBA Professional Development Program kicks off in the Spring. The formal curriculum includes self-study exercises and two intensive skill-building seminars in late April and late May/early June. The seminars are hosted by MLT’s corporate partners and feature in-depth case studies and analytical workshops designed to provide you with better insight into post-MBA careers and prepare you for the MBA recruiting process. In addition to the intensive seminars, you will:

  • Get one-on-one career coaching: Partner with an experienced MLT Professional Development Coach who has excelled in your industry of choice. Your coach will provide individualized interview preparation, career guidance, and feedback in monthly coach calls beginning in February and continuing through your internship and full-time job search during business school.
  • Gain personal clarity: Learn to best tell your story in interviews by aligning your passions and strengths with your ultimate career goals. You’ll work with your coach to define a personalized roadmap that connects your long-term career goals to a near-term action plan.
  • Get early access to top employers: Receive unique and early access to top employers seeking to recruit MLT Rising Leaders for internships and full-time jobs.
  • Cultivate a powerful network: Connect with a high-leverage network of peers, colleagues, mentors, and supporters and be a part of MLT’s network of champions, with 7,000 peers and senior leaders – and growing!
  • Interview before getting on campus: Pursue a summer internship at the organization(s) of your choice with the support of MLT MBA PD.

Joycelyn Morris, Director
Education: Joycelyn holds a BS and MBA from Florida A&M University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from Florida International University with research interests in financial literacy and education. 
Experience: With over ten years of professional experience, Joycelyn began her career on Wall Street working in wealth management at Deutsche Bank. With several years of wealth management experience behind her, she eventually left the financial services industry and New York to relocate back to South Florida and pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. Joycelyn most recently served as Assistant Director at SEO Career overseeing their pipeline program and is continuing her professional career at MLT. 

MLT Tiel ReardonTiel Reardon, Manager

Education: Tiel graduated with honors from Hofstra University in 2010. While studying at Hofstra, Tiel pursued a dual degree in Anthropology and Sociology while minoring in Music. She also completed a thesis in Anthropology about gentrification in the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Experience: Tiel joined MLT as an Associate for MBA Programs in January 2012. She began her post-collegiate career as a member of NYC Civic Corps Fellow working at New York Cares. She enjoyed planning many types of volunteer projects at public schools, senior homes, local non-profits, and community gardens. Tiel recruited and trained over 430 volunteer SAT Tutors in the Fall of 2011 in support of the SAT Prep Program. Continuing to pursue her interest in working in the non-profit realm, Tiel was thrilled to join MLT in January 2012.


MBA Professional Development Coaches

Joyce_Cadesca_HSJoyce Cadesca, Coach

Education: Joyce Cadesca holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University. She is an alum of MLT MBAP ’11 and The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.

Experience: Joyce is an experienced general management executive who is devoted to social justice, inclusion, and equity. Her corporate work experience includes finance, strategy, and human resources roles at leading global Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley. Her life purpose is to empower individuals from under-served communities to achieve their educational and professional goals. Joyce joined MLT as a Coach in the MBA Professional Development Program in the spring of 2020.

As an active Board Member and fund-raising co-chair of the Childcare Council of Westchester (a NY-based nonprofit), Joyce raises awareness of critical affordable child care resources available to low-income families. Her nonprofit experience also includes working in education management and classroom teaching in both public and private school settings. Joyce lives in the greater Philadelphia area with her son, and enjoys museum trips and live jazz.


Francine Chew, Senior Coach

Education: Francine has her MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Yale University. She was also a Fulbright Scholar in Ecuador.

Experience: Francine joined MLT in May 2013. She is currently Vice President, People Development Capabilities at Prudential, a role which encompasses all People Development innovative solutions to be curated at the enterprise level for Leaders of Enterprise, Others and Self. Francine also worked with small business programs as an independent consultant and as the founding Program Officer for Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses initiative. Previously, she served as the Director of Operations for Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant Charter School, as an Associate in the Equity Capital Markets group at Merrill Lynch, and as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley.


Denitresse Ferrell, MBA Professional Development Coach Headshot

Denitresse Ferrell, Coach

Education: Denitresse holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS in Finance from Morgan State University. She is an alum of MLT MBAP ’07, MBA Jumpstart, and the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management alum.

Experience: Following a successful career in Private Wealth Management with Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Smith Barney, Denitresse spent the last 12 years of her career in various strategic roles within John Deere, including Business Development, Public Affairs, Social Media, Strategic Planning, Project Management, and Supply Chain. Additionally, within Deere, Denitresse spent significant time supporting recruiting efforts, serving as Deere’s NBMBAA Chair and Tuck School liaison, and as part of Deere’s internal cohort of certified leadership coaches. In January 2020, Denitresse left Deere to launch her own coaching and consulting firm, and joined MLT as an MBA PD coach in March 2020.


Imani Grant bio

Imani Grant, Coach

Education: Imani holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA from Temple University. She is an MLT MBAP ’10, MBA Jumpstart, and BIG’s Digital Undivided Incubator Cohort 3 alum.

Experience: Imani has more than 10 years of client services experience including five years as a Management Consultant with AT Kearney in their Food and Beverage Practice. Imani’s consulting experience spans North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa; and across corporate strategy, food service strategy, profitability improvement, business operations, and sales force management. In 2017, Imani took a leap of faith, when she decided to pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors with Infinite Ag, a B2B marketplace for produce buyers and sellers. Additionally, Imani co-founded The Weekend Soiree, an annual 4-day retreat, and celebration for queer, multicultural womxn. Imani has coached historically marginalized groups — women, African Americans, and LGBTQ+ individuals — on how to be successful when perceived differences create very real barriers to success.



Beena Kavalam, Senior Coach

Education: Beena completed her MBA in Marketing and Management from NYU Stern School of Business and her BA in Biology from Rutgers University. Beena also earned the professional executive coaching certification (CPCC) with Coaches Training Institute.

Experience: Beena joined MLT in January of 2013. As a Professional Development Senior Coach, she draws on her real-world brand management experience from Bayer Healthcare and WhiteWave Foods, as well as her consulting background from Accenture and Pacesetter Management Consulting. Currently, she is also CEO of Personal Revolution LLC, a consulting, coaching, and training company based in New Jersey.



Anita Kishore, Senior Coach

Education: Anita began her career as a scientist, and has written and spoken on the transition from science to consulting. She completed her degrees in chemistry earning a Bachelor’s from Yale University, a Master’s from the University of Melbourne, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

Experience: Anita joined MLT as a Professional Development Coach in June 2013. Anita currently works as a Senior Director of Strategy & Innovation in Pfizer in New York City. Previously, she led US Portfolio Management for Sandoz in Princeton, NJ and developed Sandoz global strategy from its headquarters in Holzkirchen, Germany. Anita also served on the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Council, spreading awareness of key global and local D&I initiatives. Prior to Sandoz, Anita worked as a Case Team Leader at Bain & Company in San Francisco and Munich advising clients in healthcare, IT, and retail sectors. Anita also led several projects in Bain’s Museum Practice supporting fundraising for the Bay Area museum.

Education: Senyo earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and government from Georgetown University. In 2019, Senyo earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Experience: Senyo began his career as an analyst with Deloitte Consulting LLP, based in Washington, DC. After becoming a senior consultant (post-MBA role), Senyo left the firm to pursue an MBA. After business school, Senyo joined Google as a Product Specialist for the Google My Business product. In that role, Senyo drives monetization, partnerships, policy, and transactions for merchants globally. Senyo is intensely committed to personal and professional growth. He lives out this passion by supporting others in their development journey. For leisure, Senyo enjoys cycling on his road bike, watching Arsenal matches and Formula 1 Grands Prix, and adding to his travel list of seven continents and 50+ countries.

Education: Jordan holds an MBA (with Honors) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as a BA (with Distinction in All Subjects) from Cornell University.

Experience: Jordan has extensive experience working with investors, entrepreneurs, and growth companies. For the last four years, he has run his own healthcare strategy and finance consulting business, with a focus on helping CEOs tell stories that resonate with investors. For over ten years, he was a venture capital investor for Kaiser Permanente Ventures focused on investments in health care information technology, health care services, as well as diagnostics, ophthalmology, and drug-delivery devices. Prior to Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Jordan spent three years as the Director of Finance and Development for BUILD, an educational non-profit using entrepreneurship to inspire under-resourced high-school students to go to college. Prior to BUILD, Jordan was a strategy consultant at Bain & Company and Cambridge Strategic Management Group.
