How it Works

CAP provides a platform for enhancing key leadership and development skills and utilizes a proven methodology to implement them. Participants often describe CAP as a transformative experience that translates to bottom line performance. As an Employer Partner, you will have the option of participating in a multi-firm environment or a single-firm environment that enables a more customized experience tailored to your company’s unique needs.

Participants, once nominated for the program by their manager or a senior leader, benefit from executive coaching, personalized assessments and action plans, business insights from industry leaders, and powerful interactions with their executive peers. CAP is tailored to the experience of underrepresented talent, but is open to all, and participants typically have at least 10-15 years of experience.

Core Skill Building

Core skill building includes critical thinking skills, business problem solving, synthesis and analysis of data, quantitative methodologies, inductive/deductive reasoning, and lateral thinking. CAP helps participants overcome barriers such as a lack of career accelerating relationships, low confidence, and a diminished sense of belonging. It also helps with navigating corporate environments and understanding the bar for continued advancement.

Benefits

Tangible benefits for employers include lower costs related to turnover/attrition; lower costs related to sourcing/on-boarding and employee development; improved performance and raised confidence for highly-valued employees; increased employee satisfaction and productivity; and positive associations with diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Program FAQs

What makes the Career Advancement Program (CAP) different from other leadership development programs?

CAP offers a unique, C-level executive coaching experience tailored specifically to mid-career professionals who have already been identified as having future leadership potential. Unlike traditional programs, CAP combines personalized assessments, action plans, and mentorship from seasoned executives who have worked with Fortune 500 companies. This ensures that participants not only enhance key leadership skills but also gain the confidence and relationships needed to break through barriers and advance to senior leadership roles, driving long-term value for your organization.

How does CAP benefit my organization?

CAP helps organizations retain and develop their most talented employees, leading to lower turnover and improved performance. By providing employees with the tools to navigate corporate environments, build critical relationships, and advance into senior leadership roles, CAP ultimately contributes to increased productivity, higher employee satisfaction, and a positive impact on your bottom line. The program also reinforces your commitment to building a more equitable leadership pipeline.

How do I select candidates for CAP?

Candidates for CAP are typically nominated by senior leaders or managers who identify high-potential employees in line for promotion. These participants usually have 10-15 years of experience and are ready for senior leadership roles. CAP offers both multi-firm and single-firm options, allowing for a more customized experience based on your company’s unique needs. Once selected, your employees will receive tailored coaching, assessments, and action plans to help them unlock their full leadership potential.

What types of companies have benefitted from CAP's programs?

MLT has implemented CAP at a wide range of organizations across various industries, including Fortune 500 companies, global consultancies, tech giants, and leading financial institutions. Companies committed to developing diverse leadership pipelines have found CAP particularly valuable in helping advance underrepresented talent into senior roles.

What is the difference between a multi-firm and an in-house cohort?

As an Employer Partner, you will have the option of participating in a multi-firm or an in-house co-hort. Multi-firm allows companies to join other firms in creating a program that addresses broader needs across different firms or industries, while the in-house environment enables a more customized experience tailored to your company’s unique needs.
