MLT Awarded Grant from the Eva Longoria Foundation

Washington, D.C. (March 12, 2025) — MLT has recently been awarded a generous grant from the Eva Longoria Foundation (ELF) under their economic empowerment pillar.

Through this grant, ELF is partnering with MLT to establish an Eva Longoria Fellowship that will enable 25 undergraduate students to participate in MLT’s college-to-career program. MLT will match Eva Longoria Fellows with Alumni mentors and extend special invitations to virtual convenings in which they connect with each other, their mentors, representatives from the Foundation, and special guests. Together, ELF and MLT will also bring together a community of professionals and students who are passionate about equitable access to economic empowerment and career-accelerating opportunities for Latinas.

“On behalf of MLT, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Eva Longoria Foundation for their generous grant,” said Cristal Baron, MLT’s Head of Advancement. “Through this new partnership, we are excited to expand access to the economic mobility that is such a critical cornerstone of the American Dream and to empower young leaders who have the opportunity to positively impact their communities, their companies, and the US economy.”

MLT’s college-to-career program prepares students to secure high-trajectory post-college jobs that deliver economic mobility for their families and provide the social capital they need to transform this country’s institutions and vulnerable communities. 90% of MLT’s Fellows in this program are from low or moderate income families, and 60% are Pell Grant eligible. Historically, over 90% of MLT’s Fellows in this program secure full time job offers with an average starting salary of $90,000+. Both organizations are looking forward to building this fellowship and watching today’s Fellows embark on careers where they’ll flourish as the leaders of tomorrow.
